Internet Woodworking

is one of the hard workers behind one of the very
best woodworking related sites on the Internet. This Old
Workshop
features everything you'll find here at internetwoodworking.com and
even more! Lots of tool reviews, book reviews, online discussions, tips
& hints, plans & ideas, and just really great woodworking
content. Be sure to sign up for their excellent online magazine, This
Old Workshop EZine. Lance is also the
one who maintains the Woodworker's
Web Ring
and I know he spends
a lot of time working on it. Thanks for the extra effort, Lance! I

Birdhouses, Birdfeeders, and Bird
Information,
located in beautiful Abingdon, Virginia, can provide its customers with
distinctive birdhouses and birdfeeders that are carefully handcrafted
by skilled Appalation Mountain Craftsmen. These birdhouses are not your
ordinary variety, but then neither are the birds lucky enough to live
in your back yard. Treat them to a house or feeder they'll want to
return to year after year! And if you want to learn more about birds
and their preferences in made-made housing this is the site at which
to start!
Jimmy's
Cypress is a specialty lumber
company which markets, sells, manufactures, and ships its cypress
products direct
to the public, nationwide. What cypress you ask? Cypress
(Taxodium distichum) has a high resistance to decay and easy
workability - qualities demanded by craftsmen. The natural
protective oils found in cypress give it an aromatic smell that
never fades and it readily takes clear sealants, stains or paints.
It is imprevious to insects and rot, making it the perfect choice
for outdoor furniture, decks, and anything exposed to the elements.
Internet Woodworking got a couple hundred board feet from Jimmy and the
lumber
is just georgous! The lumber came well packaged to basically eliminate
the chances of damage, and it arrived here in less than a week after my
order was placed. We ran a piece through the jointer and table saw just
to see how it feels and gotta tell you this stuff is a dream to work
with. You don't have to use it just for outdoor furniture you know, it
has enough grain to make it attractive and it's not nearly as soft as
pine. So don't delay, Jimmy's Cypress
is ready to ship your cypress order to you today!
CAD Files for Woodworkers is exactly what
the name
would imply, but so much better than you could have guessed! Hosted
by Loren Hutchinson, the site features fulls sets of plans for many
projects including several furniture pieces like tables, chairs,
hutches, cabinets, entertainment centers, etc.. But it's the other
stuff that is the true find here: Hundreds, maybe even thousands of CAD
symbols for such items as mouldings, router bit profiles, tenons,
dovetails, spindles, feet, knobs, lots of hardware, and more than we
could possibly list here. There's also a nice collection of jig
designs. Some of the CAD files are in .dwg format but most are in the
widely used .dxf format, which will work with most any CAD program.
There's not a better source of CAD related information
available on the Internet! We were so impressed and excited with the
content of this site when we first stumbled across it that we spent at
least two hours just clicking and downloading drawings. If you are a
CAD user, let us just say that you have beed warned!

George
Ziegler is without a doubt one of the most important
contributors to the world of woodworking related software. He has
written some great woodworking shareware programs that have passed the
tests of time, quality, usefulness, and ease of use. George has
continued to develop software as the market and users needs expand and
has been a key figure in embracing new technologies. His new Board Foot Calculator for the Palm OS
(Pocket PC version coming soon!) is a perfect example;
George is again first to the starting gate and this program is one all
Palm device owner will have to have. And if you don't have a Palm
Pilot,
Visor, or other Palm OS device yet, this may be the tail that wags the
dog
for you! I took my Visor with me on a recent trip to my local hardwood
supplier and the guys at the mill were slobbering all over it
when they saw what this little program can do. Check out all the other
great shareware programs George has created at his Software
for Woodworkers site.
