Laguna
Tools LT16 Table Blade Guides

Roller bearing blade guides.

Sealed roller bearings provide excellent guides for the blade. They are easily positioned along the sides of the blade with the zinc plated, knurled head adjusters, and have solid locking nuts that keep them in place while the saw is in operation. I'm not sure why anyone would need "Cool Blocks" or other guide bushings. This design is mechanically sound and provides a extremely straight tracking blade with little or no "wandering" - even when cutting freehand.

Rear blade guides.

The same roller bearing setup is used for the rear blade guides. This prevents the blade from moving away from the work piece while applying pressure during a cut. I guess time will only tell how long these guys will last, but they do their job well. The same three-point guide system is used both above and below the table.

Height adjust knob.

Loosening the small knob (next to the yellow tag) makes it easy to slide the upper blade guide assembly up or down for different stock thicknesses, and hand tightening it locks it tight. Even when extended almost all the way down it still locks into position rock solid. The extension arm is very stiff and has no give in any direction, which will really help when making tight radius cuts.

Tallest cutting capacity in the industry!

With a full 12" of clearance between the upper blade guide and the table, this saw is perfect for resawing lumber. An excellent machine for making matched, bookend door panels!

Wide blade included.

The blade that came with the saw is a 3/4" x 4 TPI model that works great for resawing or for cutting some fairly tight radii. You'll want to get a narrower blade for your really fine work, and perhaps a wider blade for heavy-duty resawing. The saw will accept blades from 1/16" to 1" wide and 130" in length. (You'll need the optional Cool Block kit to use the 1/16" blades.)
